Blood Bag, IV  Inject 40cc of red food coloring into a 500 ml IV Saline, then label with one of the "Blood bag labels"
Blood, Clotting Blood gel or red food coloring. Add thickeners such as powdered milk or cornstarch to reach consistency you want.
Blood, Less Staining I use pink hand soap mixed with a little fake blood I get at 75% off from the Walmart after Halloween. I've had trouble with the artificial blood staining the linens and this solution reduces staining and keeps my pipes happy. I use colored hand soap and dish soap for all of my body fluids and it works fairly well. One word of caution this makes an alkali solution which messes up the pH testing for stomach contents and even reacted with a preservative in some donated blood tubes. Dixie Sollazzo, WorWic Community College, Salisbury MD
Bruises Print bruises on Vinyl Cling-on Sheets and use them on mannequin. http://www.papilio.com Inkjet media to make decals, waterproof vinyl
Drainage, Purulent "Hawaiian Delight" baby food and KY jelly Paige Fletcher, Austin Community College
Intralipid Suave hair conditioner to give opacity Dixie Sollazzo, WorWic Community College, Salisbury MD I discovered it when my faculty were having trouble getting commercially prepared NPH insulin to draw up into donated syringes.
Melena Chocolate pudding, strawberry jelly, food coloring to make it the shade you want. If you want realism and smell, add a squirt of the simulated fecal spray from Pocket Nurse. Cheryl A. Mack, AS, BS, NREMT-P UL-Lafayette College of Nursing
Skin Cornstarch and Vaseline with Foundation Patti Burnell, Nursing Institute, Dayton Ohio
